PMBOK In Action (16 PDUs)

Course Description

This is a two days course, targeting for PMP certified professionals to put the concepts in use, using MS Project as a tool. 

This course will bridge the gap between the theoretical concepts from The Guide to PMBOK(R) and practical tool. 

Participants will learn how to use MS Project and derive the reports and charts specified in PMBOK.

COURSE OUTLINE

Day 1:

  • Working on the scope statement
  • Creating a WBS
  • Introduction to MS Project
  • Keying the basic information into the MS Project file
  • Working out the estimates
  • Determining the dependencies
  • Working on the activity relationships
  • Working on the leads and lags

Day 2:

  • Determining the resources and costing
  • Setting baseline
  • Working out the Earned Value Management
  • Generating reports on Variances and Forecasts
  • Generating reports on Resource allocation and utilization

LEARNING OUTCOME

This course will help the participants bridge the gap between the understandings of question interpretation and the theory from The Guide to PMBOK(R). Discuss the last minute dos and don’ts and the common pit-falls, that the participants needs to be aware of.

Pre-requisite

Anyone who knows how to open a MS Project file and close it successfully can attend this. Knowledge of PMBOK is an added advantage. Participants need to bring their laptop with MS Project 2007 or higher installed in that.
