No formal experience is necessary, although you will be required to be hard working and passionate about hair!

*You will begin your supervised practice with live models, applying what you have learnt in a fully equipped salon-school environment. Theory lessons that come alongside are conducted in the Lecture room.

Commencement Date

Course commences on every first Monday of the month for part time students.

Entry Requirements

Interested applicants must possess ONE of the following entry requirements: 3 GCE ‘N’ Level In English/Chinese and 2 other subjects (Grade A-D or 1-5) OR 2 GCE ‘O’ Level in any subject (Grade 1 -8) OR Any equivalent qualifications OR Pass the entrance test conducted by ITE.

Awarded

Students are required to meet the following criteria in order to graduate and obtain their relevant certificate:

– Must complete all 6 modules with at least 75% in attendance

– Able to pass the mock examinations for the 6 modules

Upon completion of the programme, students will be awarded the (NITEC) Certificate in Hairstyling Services (Hair Fashion & Design)

Progression

You can graduate to take your place in the work force as a Hair Stylist.

At the end of the course, the student can register for ITE examination. Students will be assessed by the internal and external verifier. Students are required to perform a final practical test on live mode during the days of the verification. Students are also required to sit for 6 theory tests. There are 2 mediums of theory paper – English / Chinese.

Certificates will only be awarded to a student upon achievement of at least a Pass grade in the final practical and theory tests.
