Higher Nitec in Rapid Transit Engineering graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics.
Career Prospects
Higher Nitec in Rapid Transit Engineering graduates, with their breadth and depth of skills and knowledge in a wide range of rapid transit technologies and systems, would be able to find attractive employment opportunities with mass rapid transit operators (SMRT, SBS Transit), Land Transport Authority, Government planning agencies as well as companies dealing in high tech systems and equipment for the rail industry. Some of the job titles would include Rapid Transit Technical Officer in the areas of Trains, Rolling Stock, Permanent Way, Electrical Systems, Communications, Signaling and/or Fare and Supervisory Control.
