Course Description

STRUCTURE AND CONTENT

The diploma programme consists of 8 subjects and may be completed in 8 months.

  • Computational Mathematics and Computer Architecture
  • Introduction to Computer Science
  • Principles of Information Systems and Data Management
  • Introduction to Data Communications
  • Introduction to Database Design and Development
  • Introduction to Multimedia and the Internet
  • Principles of Computer Forensics
  • Principles of Computer Security

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT METHODS

Delivery Method

The curriculum is taught over 4 terms of 8 weeks with each term covering 2 subjects. Each subject of this part-time programme will be delivered over an 8-week cycle comprising 32 contact hours.

Assessment Methods

Each unit is assessed by any combination of class participation, written assignments, project or examinations. Assessment methods may vary according to individual unit requirements.

GRADUATION AND DEGREE

Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded with Diploma in Computer Forensics by Kaplan Higher Education Institute, as appropriate. Diploma graduates can then move on to pursue bachelor degree programmes with one of our prestigious partner universities in Singapore.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND REGISTRATION

  • GCE ‘A’ Levels and Higher NITEC or equivalent qualifications
  • GCE ‘N’, ‘O’ Levels, and NITEC or equivalent qualifications (foundation modules required)
  • English proficiency may be considered sufficient and a IELTS score may not be required if applicant possesses a diploma from a recognised institution where English was the sole medium of instruction. Otherwise, minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent is required
