Course Description

• Understand the HMI implementation considerations and the key steps involved
• Select the appropriate HMI software, hardware components, machine communication and interface method
• Understand the fundamentals of programmable logic controller and basic ladder logic
• Design and develop a simple HMI system for a programmable logic controller with animated graphics, data logging, trending, and alarms.
• Understand alternative approaches and system architectures for HMI and supervisory control
• Understand project management and software development life cycle
• Design and develop a simple supervisory control system for machine process monitoring
• Design and develop a simple human machine interface for automated material handling system
