This module covers the fundamentals of structural dynamics and the use of finite element modelling as well as methods for vibration measurement and analysis of mechanical systems and machine structures. Many case studies will be presented for identifying and tackling the weaknesses in machine structures. At the end of this module, the participants are expected to be equipped with the critical competencies in dealing with issues that affect machine vibration, such as stiffness and damping, structural configuration and structural connectivity.
