This competency unit specifies the essentials in performing work safely and effectively while complying with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and legal responsibilities in retail and service environment.

It consists of the following elements:
Follow safe work practices and risk control procedures
Participate in WSH management activities
Follow workplace emergency response procedures
Address safety and health issues across the various industry sectors
Cultivate good safety practices to promote a strong safety culture at the workplace
This unit is within the Employablity Skills (ES) Workplace Skills Series and is one of the elective modules leading to the WSQ Certificate in Retail Operations.
