The 18-Month Advanced Diploma in Motion Graphics Design is a Start-to-End Programme Where Aspiring Designers are prepared for a Career in Multimedia Design

MAGES Institute of Excellence presents to you our Advanced Diploma in Motion Graphic Design programme, an 18-month course that provides students with traditional design training in print, as well as motion and digital graphic design. This programme will prepare students for a career in motion graphic design—branching into broadcast, film, web, advertising and other industries.

Curriculum

Our industry-standard curriculum is based on the recommendations of our illustrious Academic Board, made up of some of the most recognized faces in the local creative industry. Our curriculum is designed to arm students with the knowledge needed to succeed as a designer in the broadcast or multimedia industry.

Student-to-Lecturer Ratio (9:1)

Our low student-to-lecturer ratio, 9 students to 1 lecturer, means that each student within the class is given adequate attention during the course of their education. Armed with industry experience, our mentors and lecturers are primed to pass on advice and guidance regarding industry standards and practices.

Industry Experience

The Capstone Studio Practice means students can choose to work on the individual project or live project mentored by the industry partners at MAGES campus or at the company. If the student is working at the company for the duration of the module then it would be treated as internship.

Portfolio Development

At MAGES, there is a distinct focus on the development of the student’s portfolio, in order to increase their employability upon graduation.

Local Students

Intake Consideration

Applicants must have a passion for creation, a love of media and entertainment, and willingness to strive for good results.

Age:

16 Years Old (based on Date of Birth) by the Date that Classes Start

Academic Qualifications for Diploma Intake:

• GCE ‘A’ Level or
• 3 GCE ‘O’ Level passes or Certificate Level or NITEC have to complete MAGES Foundation Course (SC122-Basic Drawing) for the relevant programmes prior to entry into selected Diploma courses. Exceptions for the foundation programme may be granted on a case-by-case.

English Proficiency:

• GCE ‘O’ Level English

          – English grade of D7 required for Animation related courses

          – Other programmes requires a minimum of C6 English grade

• Pass interview with the Academic Director and assessment by Academic Board (if student does not meet the above English requirement)
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age with 2 years of relevant work experience

International Students

Academic Qualifications for Diploma Intake:

• GCE ‘A’ Level or
• Applicants should have passed a minimum of 12 years senior high school education with proof of pass in English. Student has to pass all subjects with the required averaged score of 65%. or
• 3 GCE ‘O’ Level passes or Certificate Level or NITEC have to complete MAGES Foundation Course Course (SC122-Basic Drawing) for the relevant programmes prior to entry into selected Diploma courses. Exceptions for the foundation programme may be granted on a case-by-case.
• Minimum of 10 years senior high school education with proof of pass in English have to complete MAGES Foundation Course for the relevant programmes prior to entry into selected Diploma courses. Student has to pass all subjects with the required averaged score of 65%. [Ref:Student has to pass all subjects with the required averaged score as below:

          -Indonesia: Year 11 with an average 65%;

          – Sri Lanka: Year 10 Pass;

          – India: Year 10 Pass;

          – Vietnam: Year 11 with an average 65%;

          – Myanmar: Year 11 Pass;

          – China: Year 11 with an average 65%;

          – Others: Year 11 with an average 65%

For all students who have not studied English up to senior high level would need to complete the following:

English Proficiency:

• IELTS 5.5
• Other equivalent qualifications where the medium of instruction is English
• Student may attend additional English classes and pass at the equivalent of upper intermediate level (if student does not meet any of the above English requirements)
