Created for Designers Trained in Print Media who wish to make the Transition into Broadcast Media

The Specialist Diploma in Motion Graphic Design is an 8-month programme that allows students who have graduated from related diplomas such as a Diploma in Graphic Design or a Diploma in Visual Communications, a chance to supplement what they have already learnt with the knowledge needed to jumpstart their career as a Motion Graphic Designer.

The course will encourage students to enhance their creative talents, as well as sharpen their technical knowledge. These students will be able to produce attention-grabbing communication design for film, television, and the web. The course provides a stimulating education in motion graphics—including practical application of storytelling, typography as well as embracing the theory, research and analysis portion of project work.

Curriculum

Our industry-standard curriculum was based on the recommendations of our illustrious Academic Board, made up of some of the most recognized faces in the local creative industry. Our curriculum is designed to help designers trained in print media to transition into broadcast media.

Student-to-Lecturer Ratio (9:1)

Our low student-to-lecturer ratio, 9 students to 1 lecturer, means that each student within the class is given adequate attention during the course of their education. Armed with industry experience, our mentors and lecturers are primed to pass on advice and guidance regarding industry standards and practices.

Industry Experience

The Capstone Studio Practice means students can choose to work on the individual project or live project mentored by the industry partners at MAGES campus or at the company. If the student is working at the company for the duration of the module then it would be treated as internship.

Portfolio Development

At MAGES, there is a distinct focus on the development of the student’s portfolio, in order to increase their employability upon graduation.

Entry Requirement

Intake Consideration:

Applicants must have a passion for creation, a love of media and entertainment, and willingness to strive for good results.

Age:

18 years old (based on date of birth) at point of start class

Academic Qualifications for Diploma Intake:

• Diploma holders in Graphic Design related courses or equivalent design related qualification would be considered. Or
• Degree holders in Graphic Design related courses or equivalent design related qualification would be considered.
• For all students who have not studied English up to senior high level would need to complete the following:

English Proficiency:

• IELTS 5.5
• Other equivalent qualifications where the medium of instruction is English
• Student may attend additional English classes and pass at the equivalent of upper intermediate level (if student does not meet any of the above English requirements)
