IMCA – ASSISTANT LIFE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Course Description

The ALST training is the fundamental course for new entrants to the IMCA Life Support Technician, equip personnel with the necessary skills to control the chamber environment and having the knowledge of physics, physiology and medical aspects so as to support divers in high pressure environments.

This course is the IMCA pre-requisite to becoming a qualified Life Support Technician.

Before being permitted to sit the IMCA examination, all candidates must have attended and passed the Assistant Life Support Technician course or be a qualified Bell Diver and then logged the necessary experience (go offshore and log a minimum of 2,400 panels hours as an ALST) in accordance with the IMCA career structure. Practical experience gained prior to the course does not count.
