IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (Recurrent) Training

Course Description

This course is designed for cargo agents, shippers, freight forwarders and airline personnel who deal with dangerous goods for transport by air and who have already attended a basic course before and who need to refresh their knowledge and revalidate their certificates.

Objectives

Participants will be updated with any changes that have been made to the regulations over the preceding two years. At the end of the course, participants will be able to apply current regulations to dangerous goods shipments in accordance with lATA and ICAO standards.

Course Contents

  • General usage of the lATA Dangerous Goods Regulations covering both radioactive and non-radioactive materials.
  • Use of alphabetical list
  • Completion of documentation
  • Identification, classification, packing, marking and labelling
  • State and operator variations
  • Excepted dangerous goods
  • Articles and substances not listed by name
  • Airline acceptance procedures
  • Emergency procedures
  • Update of new regulations

Duration : 2 days course (for air shipments)

Timing : 9am to 6pm (lunch will be provided)

*Note : A proficiency test of 3 hours will be held on the last day of the course.

Upon passing the test, each participant will receive a certificate which is valid for two years and recognised by IATA.
